Eau Claire (WQOW)- Students at Memorial High School put a different twist on the senior prank.
Seniors typically come up with a clever way to fool the staff, like in Cumberland where students made it look like a car crashed into the principal's office, but students at Memorial had a much more humbling way of saying farewell.
About a month ago some seniors approached Assistant Principal Laura Nicolet wanting the names of all of the 175 staff members for their senior prank, so they could give them thank you notes.
Teachers and staff were surprised by the nice gesture and said they've never seen a prank like this before.
"As a high school teacher we don't get all the constant thanks that maybe elementary teachers do, or the hugs, and the hugs that they're lavished with, so to me letters telling me how I impacted a student is really really meaningful," said Niki Anderson, an Eau Claire Memorial biology teacher.
The seniors graduated Friday at 7 p.m. at the Zorn Arena.
