Thunder Bay (WQOW) -- Early offense and patient at-bats proved to be the difference, as the Express earned their second straight win in Thunder Bay, 7-2 over the Border Cats.
Eau Claire opened the game with a six run frame in the top of the first. After drawing three straight walks, Zach Gilles and Spencer Myers scores on consecutive wild pitches to give the Express a two run lead. That lead quickly ballooned to 5, Zac Stange delivering a basehit to right that scored a pair of runners. Jordan Wilson capped the scoring in the inning, driving home Adam LaRock with a sac fly.
Eau Claire's record now stands at 3-5, with Thunder Bay falling to 2-7. The Express will next host the Bismarck Larks at Carson Park, Wednesday, in a game scheduled to start at 6:35 p.m.
