Could wolves be removed from the endangered species list?

Posted:

(WQOW) - The Wisconsin DNR reported Wisconsin's wolf population appears to be stabilizing, after decades of growth.

Volunteers tracked between 900 and 950 wolves this winter. The DNR said they need a few more years worth of data to prove the population has stabilized, but added the target goal in Wisconsin is 250 animals.

Wolves were removed from the endangered species list in 2011, and re-added them in 2014. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service said the new data could result in their removal from the list.
