Eau Claire (WQOW) - Eau Claire's downtown streets could soon be filled with music and food - if the city council gives its stamp of approval.
The Oxbow Hotel hosted their first Oxbeaux street concert last year, but are hoping to keep the tradition going.
The concert will take place on July 5 on Galloway Street, and will feature local and national artists performing.
Hotel officials hope they can get a three year agreement for the event.
"We need to apply for the special events license every year and this isn't saying we get to do whatever we want every three years, its under review every year and every year we will have to do the special event application like any other event," said Kelsey Deetz, the event and marketing director at Oxbow and Lakely.
Deetz said the concert will start at 6 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m.
The concert isn't the only exciting thing potentially happening in Eau Claire. The city council will also review a new event from Volume One called 'Food Truck Friday's.
"The food truck scene is growing in Eau Claire and in the Chippewa Valley and we wanted to give the food trucks a platform and a space to come together and also create an urban vibe, so we chose a parking lot in downtown Eau Claire where multiple food trucks can come together on one day for lunch and dinner," said Michelle Rowekamp, the event and marking coordinator at Volume One.
The event would be held in the Railroad Street Parking Lot right by the Volume One building on the first Friday of every month.
Rowekamp said they plan on rotating food trucks each month.
Both of these events will be voted on at Tuesday's meeting.
