Man killed in St. Croix County crash

St. Croix County (WQOW) - One man was killed Wednesday morning after pulling out in front of another vehicle and getting hit on the driver's side.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff's Office, police responded to the intersection of Highway I and Highway E in the township of St. Joseph for a two-car crash Wednesday around 7:03 a.m.

Pedro Luis Vera Cornier, 35, of Somerset was killed in the crash.

According to the sheriff's office, Vera Cornier was at a stop sign on Highway I when he pulled out in front of a car driven by  Anthony Herbst, 25, of Houlton WI. Herbst didn't have a stop sign, and had the right of way driving on Highway E.

Herbst suffered minor injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. 

This is the fifth traffic fatality in St. Croix County this year.
