Eau Claire (WQOW) - A Bloomer man, already convicted of child abuse in western Wisconsin, is charged with abusing his six-year-old daughter at his girlfriend's house in Eau Claire.
Adam Jain, 37, is also charged with causing mental harm to a child and disorderly conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, Jain's daughter returned home from a custody weekend with red hand prints on her bottom. The girl told police he spanked her because she threw up.
Jain admitted to police he did spank her but it was because she is bulimic. He said he also spanked her because she wet her pants and wouldn't put on a pull-up. Jain told police it is his parental right to spank her, as long as the red marks fade after a day and it doesn't bruise.
The girl's mother told police Jain did not give the six-year-old a bath or change her clothes when she was with him.
Court records show Jain was convicted of child abuse in Polk County in 2007. He also has an open child abuse case pending in Chippewa County.
According to that criminal complaint, Jain broke up a fight between his 14-year-old son and another child by grabbing his hair and throwing him into a coffee table and later into the kitchen. His son told police Jain said the next time he'd break up the fight by "making you guys bloody."
The 14-year-old also said his dad often tells him he wishes he wasn't his son.
Jain is due back in Chippewa County for that case June 28.
