1942 military vehicle named after two-year-old girl

Eau Claire (WQOW) - There was so much to see at the Chippewa Valley Air Show and so many stories to share, including the one about a two-year-old girl and a military G-506.

The Chippewa Valley Military Preservation Association (CVMPA) brought a few vehicles down for display on Saturday. But one stuck out the most, with Mini Mouse at the wheel.

"Each of the vehicles typically would have a name that was associated with the driver of the vehicle," said Tim Scobie, member of CVMPA. "We named this one after my daughter, Emma. She's two-years-old and she would come down and help us work on the trucks from now and then. Se we said 'Since you helped, it's yours.'"

The G-506 was made in 1942 and used to transport army men and material from supply depots to the front lines.
