Eau Claire (WQOW) - One of the eight Democrats trying to unseat Governor Scott Walker stopped in Eau Claire Wednesday. School Superintendent Tony Evers was in town and by his side was Dana Wachs, who recently dropped out of the race in order to endorse him.
We asked Evers about the recent announcement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy's retirement.
"We had a good justice lined up and Republicans decided not to take that up," said Evers. "Now we're going to, I'm sure, Donald Trump will have somebody lined up to take the conservative majority even bigger in this country. We need to have balance and this will further unbalance the Supreme Court."
Evers also said Trump is celebrating Foxconn at the same time as what Evers said is "messing with the workers at Harley Davidson."
"There's a conflict there in my own mind watching him come to Wisconsin and celebrate this," said Evers. "Foxconn was one of the worst deals ever invented. Scott Walker paid way too much for subsidizing a private company in this state. I'm pro-job, we have to have jobs in this state, but as far as the financial end of it, it was a complete disaster."
He also shared his appreciation to have Wachs' support for his candidacy in the upcoming elections.
The Democratic Primary is in August. The winner will face off against Governor Walker in November.
