Menomonie (WQOW) - On Tuesday, Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel announced that the School District of the Menomonie Area was awarded $168,808 for improving safety measures in the school district.
The school district received all the money it asked for.
The school safety grant funds will allow the school district to:
Install shatter resistant film on primary and secondary entrances and sidelight windows in each of the seven school buildings in the school district,
Purchase crisis response kits for building offices and updated emergency flip charts for classrooms,
Provide training for staff in the areas of non-violent crisis intervention and trauma informed care,
Improve building surveillance systems and extend perimeter fencing at several of the district’s schools.
