Altoona (WQOW) -- The Altoona School District will be making their schools a little safer, thanks to a nearly $55,000 grant.
Attorney General Brad Schimel (R-WI) announced on Thursday that Altoona was one of 47 Wisconsin schools and districts to receive money from the DOJ school safety grant program. Other schools chosen include St. Paul grade school in Bloomer, who received $20,000 and the Elmwood School District, which received $64,000.
To date, 652 schools and districts have gotten a share of more than $45 million.
