
Amie Winters began her work at News 18 behind the scenes. She's done a little bit of everything at the station including audio, assistant directing and editing. In the fall of 2007, Amie interned in the news department. In 2008 she was hired as the Daybreak producer and moved on to full-time reporter and Live at Five producer. In the summer of 2009 she began anchoring the Daybreak show. She's very happy to be working with the News 18 team and loves the excitement of coming to work at a television station every day.
Amie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in December of 2008. She earned a double major in broadcast journalism and Spanish. She lived and studied in Spain for six months in 2006 and says it was the most amazing experience of her life.
Amie is originally from Reedsburg, Wisconsin, but has family in Eau Claire. She's very happy to have made a home in the Chippewa Valley. Amie got married in June 2009 to Steve Winters, a teacher in the Eau Claire Area School District. In her spare time, Amie likes to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
