ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms)

ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms) walls are for the basement and all exterior walls built all the way to the rafters.   They are forms we custom build on the job site for poured concrete walls that stay in place for a permanent part of the wall assembly. The forms are comprised of recycled foam insulation interlocking blocks or separate panels connected with ties. The forms are then filled with cement to provide a continuous mass with insulation protection, a sound barrier, and are used as the backing for sheetrock inside and siding, stucco, or brick on the outside.  They are energy efficient, more comfortable, quieter, and they stand up to time and the elements. They are even known to be a useful tornado shelter. The continuous concrete gives you strength, R-value of mass wall thickness, and is designed for more streamlined, error free construction.

ICF building can generate as little as 1% construction waste, greatly reducing land fill methane emissions. Its combination of the insulation and the cement minimizes temperature fluctuations by absorbing and storing hear. This equates to an average of approximately 30-50 % reduction in energy consumption for heating and cooling, which results in an equivalent reduction in harmful emissions.
