♦ batted insulation are strips made of flexible fiber glass. Most strips are 4 to 8 feet in length and made to fit between joists, beams and studs. Main uses are in the attic, floor, walls and cathedral ceilings.
♦ Closed-cell foam has many tiny foam cells closed and packed together. These cells are filled with a gas that helps the foam rise and expand and become a greater insulator. Mainly used in box sills, crawlspaces and air sealing.
♦ is made with small particles of materials like fiberglass or cellulose. The material is loosely packed in a bag and then blown into cavities with a machine. Main uses are in attics, floors, walls and various hard to reach closed spaces.
