Some much-needed rain is in the near future with an incoming area of low pressure. We will remain dry today with breezy conditions and summer-like temperatures. Tonight, as a frontal boundary slides in from the west, showers and thunderstorms will develop, especially west and northwest of Eau Claire. After a brief break later tomorrow morning, a second round of showers and storms will develop in the viewing area during the afternoon and evening. From tonight through tomorrow, some areas may pick up 1" to 2" of rainfall. Strong or severe thunderstorms are possible too, if we witness enough sunshine to warm temperatures. Quiet weather returns briefly on Friday before another round of showers passes through Saturday. Keep it tuned for forecast updates and alerts! Meteorologist Nick Grunseth
