EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - Thanksgiving is almost here, but not everyone has a place to eat or the money to make a feast.
Reporter Katrina Lim shares with us where you can gobble down on a hot free meal on turkey day.
If you're someone in need who wants a "shrimply" delicious Thanksgiving dinner, you may want to go to the new seafood restaurant Eau Juicy on 2106 N. Clairemont Ave.
"We're going to have our Dilly Bob special. So it's going to come with king crab legs, the snow crab legs, the crawfish, the mussels, the head-on shrimp, head-off shrimp, corn, potatoes and sausages as well," said owner Xavier Yang.
In addition to their seafood boil, Eau Juicy staff will also serve turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and stuffing.
The restaurant has only been open for a little more than three months, but Yang said the city of Clear Water has already given him so much.
"I've been really thankful that we've had the community's support and that they've given us their time and their business," Yang said. "So we just want to give thanks to them and just have a meal."
Eau Juicy is not the only place serving a free hot meal Thursday.
As they have in years past, Hope Gospel Mission is serving up their annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner.
Officials anticipate about 600 people will come through for dine-in or takeout.
"I think we've cooked about 50 turkeys this year and all the fixings with that, too, so we cannot do this event without our volunteers and people donating to the mission," said Brett Geboy, community relations director for Hope Gospel.
Speaking of volunteers, Meghan Hill has been helping with Hope Gospel's Thanksgiving meal for three years, and she continues to do it for the people.
"You're making a difference in someone's life, even if it's just for a little bit of time. I think that also gives them hope that they can get through whatever tough situation they're currently in," Hill said.
Hope Gospel will be serving their Thanksgiving meal on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hope Renewal Center for Men at 2650 Mercantile Drive, across from the westside Festival Foods.
Eau Juicy will serve their free dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. near the corner of Clairemont Avenue and Vine Street.
Other free meal opportunities include Saving Grace Lutheran Church at 2124 Eastridge Center Street.
They'll be serving both sit-down and to-go meals on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Community Table at 320 Putnam Street #1/2 will also serve to-go meals that day from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
