EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) - It's the season of giving, and Thursday was the epitome of that. Community Table was one among a few giving to their community on this Thanksgiving.
Volunteers scooped all the fixings from mashed potatoes, to stuffing and especially turkey to those in need of a meal.
Volunteer Ellen Erickson has been giving her time to Community Table over the past 25 years, as a nurse, giving back is in the job title, but Thursday it was about so much more.
"Especially for Thanksgiving, it's a gathering day. It's about sharing, it's about being thankful, and if those individuals can't provide, it's pretty cool here that the community table can help provide one hot meal for today," said Erickson.
Whether it be single or family sized, each plate was accompanied by a card and a desert from North Star Middle School.
Hope Gospel Mission and Eau Juicy also provided free Thanksgiving meals for the community
