A chilly weekend is ahead, but at least it won't sn**

High temps hit the low to mid 60s east of highway 53, but most spots to the west were in the mid to upper 50s as cooler air continues to move eastward.

Comparing the first two weeks of October this year to the the first two weeks last year, you'll notice it's been warmer. While this year's warmest high was only 4 degrees warmer than last year, the other temp categories range from 10 to 15 degrees warmer.

A hard freeze came to even Eau Claire with a low of 25 on the 4th of October last year, but this year's coldest October low to date was this morning at 49.

One year ago today saw a trace of snow, meaning that flakes were falling but was not measurable. In fact, a snow storm dropped 7 inches of snow on October 19-20, 2020.
